Welcome to Home of the Kentucky Black Deaf Advocates (KYBDA) web-site. The KYBDA was formed in June 7, 2003 as a "Pending Chapter". On August 6, 2005, the KYBDA became an affiliate chapter of the National Black Deaf Advocates, Inc. and is currently recognized as Kentucky Black Deaf Advocates #31. The Mission of the KYBDA is to promote leadership development, empowerment, educational, cultural, social equality, and economic advancement of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing African Americans in the state of Kentucky; to focus on advocacy to help with many issues; to work closely with different organizations, agencies, and employers; and to provide workshops, trainings and support of the "American Disabilities Act" to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities.

MIDWESTERN REGIONAL BDA
KYBDA is a member of Midwestern Regional BDA, which is composed of Kentucky, Indianapolis, Chicago, St. Paul/Minneapolis, Cleveland and Detroit.
Midwestern Regional BDA hosts biennial conferences.
